Major HVAC changes coming in 2023

With the new year around the corner, we're going see some major changes to the HVAC equipment.

In 2023, the Department of Energy introduces new efficiency requirements and new efficiency standards.

Single phase residential and light commercial equipment will have new efficiency standards, while the remaining equipment will have new efficiency requirements.

Although the Department of Energy dictates what the requirements are, each manufacturer decides what technologies they use to meet these requirements.

Some of the new technologies are gonna be microprocessor boards, stage cooling, and stage heating, and some manufacturers will be replacing the belt drive blower motors, with new energy efficient ECM motors, like you see here.

Regardless of how the manufacturers do it, Battaglia is working very closely with our vendors and manufacturer reps to make sure that our technicians are trained on installing and servicing your new HVAC equipment.
