Fox Valley Apartments
My name is Gonzalo Salazar. I'm with Battaglia for over 15 years. We are doing a project called Fox Valley apartment complex.
We’ve been working on this for a year. Right now we are super busy, so we work 10 hours every day. The last couple years, we did a big job over 200 apartments. This job has over 300 apartments.
What do you think makes Battaglia different than other contractors on the project?
Battaglia gets the job done. Whatever the customer wants, Battaglia jumps right away. <Laugh> I can tell you that.
So what is your role on this job?
I'm a field manager and I oversee every single guy.
What's the hardest part of a job like this?
I think the hardest part for me is to manage the people. There are a lot of different personalities. I think that's the hardest part.
I’ve got a crew laying boxes. I’ve got a crew roughing. I’ve got a crew pulling wire. I got a crew putting on mud rings. I got a crew doing low voltage and I got a crew for distribution, doing all the panels.
It seems like the hardest part is to get things done. Like when people want it to be done originally. Right?
That's part of the job — to jump right on it and say, okay, what's the problem. And we do it. We figure out the best solution and the fastest solution.
