Meet Sean Rausa: 25 years with Battaglia
Hi, I'm Sean Rausa, project manager with the Battaglia. I've been with the team over 25 years. So I've seen it all. Yeah, I've seen it from we were this big and now we're this big.
What has changed the most in your 25 years?
Technology, obviously. There's so many easier ways to do things. More efficient ways to do things and Battaglia tries to be on the cusp of that all the time. If we see something that'll make us better as electricians, we always strive for that.
Training is always awesome. We try and keep all our guys trained on the latest and greatest. We like to get into the technical weeds a little bit. And anything we can do.
Do you have a favorite thing about working with Battaglia?
Basically it's a team. I love it from the upper to lower.
We strive to be the easiest contractor to work with. If a trade has a problem with something we want to be part of the resolution. We want to make it easier for them as well. If we can solve a problem in the field, our guys are trained to do that.
René appreciates the caring and thorough teaching in Battaglia’s apprentice program, which has made his first venture into the trade both helpful and comforting.
Zach highlights the supportive and easygoing nature of his colleagues, with dreams of becoming a journeyman and leading a division.
A journey of rapid learning and aspirations to lead in electrical construction, inspired by an energetic and intellectual instructor.
Frank found encouragement to grow without limits, learning to lead by example and foster a respectful, supportive environment through effective communication and kindness.
Christopher explains how his electrical studies seamlessly connect classroom learning with on-site experiences.
Through Battaglia's structured and comprehensive apprenticeship program, Frank has gained invaluable knowledge and stability, which contrasts sharply with the ad-hoc training he experienced elsewhere.
Sebastian, an 18-year-old new apprentice, was inspired by his dad's recommendation of Battaglia's superior work quality, and he finds joy in the hands-on learning and supportive environment that allows him to explore the complexities of electricity like solving a puzzle.
Starting fresh at Battaglia two years ago, Miguel has enjoyed learning various aspects of electrical work, from RTUs to trimming outlets, and dreams of one day running a commercial job and teaching younger apprentices what he's learned.
Daniel balances challenging night classes and fieldwork, enjoying the problem-solving aspect of electrical work, which has not only made him a solid electrician but also motivated his wife to pursue further education; inspired by his foreman Frank, he aims to grow with the company and improve his quick-thinking skills.
We aim for our apprentices to not only become self-sufficient journeymen but also to grow into mentors and leaders who will drive the success of our future projects.
We create opportunities for motivated individuals to excel quickly, offering accelerated raises for those who acquire skills ahead of schedule.
Our apprentices earn a U.S. Department of Labor certificate, ensuring they meet licensing requirements in any state, unlike many peers in Illinois.
Our no-cost training program requires a two-year commitment, with a focus on developing apprentices into future leaders and supporting their career ambitions.
Our apprenticeship program immerses you in a wide array of electrical projects, from commercial complexes to residential-style units, ensuring comprehensive skill development.
